Junior Great Books Of the Past!
Junior Great books are a great way to read and think about stories. You have to answer questions about each story. We complete a series of junior great book questions frequently and hault to turn them in until journal checks. The following books are the ones that our class has completed: Chura and Marwe, Bad Characters, A Likely Place, Raymond's Run, Through The Tunnel, My Greatest Ambition, and Superstitions!
Pact Practice Of the Past!
Pact Practice writing has taken place in our class three times and two of which we each got a different topic. One of which we all got the same topic and that topic was "If your class was doing some volunteer work, what would you want your class to do?" We really enjoyed this topic and we are all familiar with community service so we had experience in the subject.
Writters Work Shop Of The Past!
At the end of the year each ELA student is required to have two of each type of writing. You must posses two descriptive writings, two narative writings, two expostitory and two persuasive writings. This might be hard for students who like to write ONLY persuasive writing or ONLY narative writing but not hard for those who like to branch out and write expostitary one day and descriptive another. I am like that and mostly write descriptive because I like to make up characters and how they act, what they say and how they say it. To include "show don't tell" in a professional mannor visit the Terrific Tranformations page where you will see awesome examples and ways to improve your skills.
