    Study Ideas
Don't cram! Study in a routine throughout the week.
  • Memorize short terms and keywords.
  • Make it fun! Use http://www.wordle.net/ and the Practice Quizzes page.
  • Keep study notes neat. You'll need them later for studying!
  • Test yourself, or with a friend to make sure you know the content.
  • It's usually easier to study when you feel relaxed.
  • When taking notes use the six in sixty strategy. The six in sixty strategy is when you choose the six most important key words in the sentence or paragraph so you won't have to study so many things.

Independence:

  • When you're going to do homework it's best to be independent. You may not be used to this, nevertheless

it is VERY important. Here's why...

  • You may be very used to yell in a nagging voice, "I need help with my homework!" to a parent or sibling but the thing is-you need to do the work.
  • The problem with asking for help for something like  say, to revise or edit a story if your mom or dad does it for you then it's them that should get the grade, not you.
  • It's all like a chain-reaction, you ask for help, your parents end up doing the work for you, you get used to it and then bam. That's when it hits you. your parents might not be there for you, or they may not know the material, or you're stuck with some work you don't realize-ouch.
  • The best thing you can do is to PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS! Take notes the use them for your homework.
  • Try to make this a habit. It may seem hard at first but you'll get used to it if you make it that way. Although this may not sound true it is listen, but it's actually better for you if you don't get something right, than for you to get it right with help.
